Manual Lymphatic Drainage
A very specific gentle massage technique that encourages lymphatic flow and drainage which brings balance to the body by filtering and removing metabolic waste, bacteria, excess water and proteins.
The main function of the lymphatic system is detoxification, but it also plays an important role in our immune system. Your lymphatic system facilitates the removal of excess water, wastes, toxins and foreign substances from your body tissues. It is also responsible for identifying, containing and destroying disease-producing microorganisms in the body. It is made up of capillaries, vessels, lymph nodes, organs and bone marrow. Lymph is an extracellular fluid that enters the lymphatic vessels and is mixed with cellular elements. The lymphatic system starts at the lymphatic sacs in the extracellular spaces. These sacs have pores, allowing the passage of large proteins and other metabolic waste products. When the lymphatic sacs are filled, lymph enters the lymphatic vessels. The walls of lymphatic vessels contain valves, directing the flow of lymph one way only (toward the heart). Along the path of the lymphatic vessels are lymphatic nodes. When the fluid reaches these nodes, metabolic wastes, bacterias, infections, excess water, and other foreign substances are removed. The drained lymph then continues its flow. Most of the lymphatic fluid reenters the circulation via the thoracic duct (a common drainage duct). The tonsils, spleen, and thymus, for example, are all parts of the lymphatic system. Unlike the heart, the center of the body’s other circulatory system, the lymphatic system doesn’t have its own pump. As a result, it relies on the movement of the body and breath and to drain lymph fluid. For most of us, the body is perfectly capable of draining itself. But injury, surgery, illness, lack of physical activity, and other issues can compromise the system, resulting in a need for assisted lymphatic drainage.

Pain relief with Laser Touch One

Low Level Laser Therapy (aka cold laser) is a well-established therapy for pain relief and rehabilitation of numerous injuries. The laser light penetrates tissue where it is absorbed by cells and effectively stimulates healing and rapid pain relief.
Micro-Current Electrical Stimulation sends small amounts of electrical current to the cells which stimulates repair and healing – it promotes the production of ATP (the cell’s energy molecule) and protein, as well as assists in the absorption of nutrients and the elimination of wastes. When injured cells are able to repair, increased mobility and pain relief are achieved.
The LaserTouchOne™, which combines the two therapies in one device, was compared in a clinical study to a cold laser device and separately a micro-current electrical stimulation device. The LTO device was successful in reducing pain by at least 2 points in 93.1% of the completer population (compared with 83.3% with the TENS device and 62.5% with the LLT device)
The LaserTouchOne™ is an FDA approved medical device
